This is the first piece I wrote for the double neck electric guitar built for me by Miroslav Tadic. After years of bowing guitars, I found that, when playing an instrument I have setup for bowing, I missed playing a standard guitar and when I was playing a standard guitar, I missed having something set up for bowing. This instrument (who I have named Esther) as an attempt to get the best of both worlds. The lower neck is a 30” baritone scale. It is fretless with a 3” radius to allow bow access to individual strings. The lower part of the body is also offset and specifically carved for bow access. The upper neck is a standard 25.5” scale guitar. The pickups for this instrument were custom made by Derek Donley. The lower set has extra long pole pieces to match the string radius.
